Yet another in the series begun in 2001. Heavy On Doo Wop volume #10 continues with those rare, seldom heard Vocal Group Gems!! Rockers & Ballads to suit everyone’s taste. This CD offers you twenty-eight (28) tracks spanning from the late 40’s to the 60’s . Vocal Group Harmony Gems, including some good Gospel you’ll want to add to your music library.

2. My Last Cry - Starlettes ’61 Pam (Good ballad by these young ladies)

4. What’s To Become Of Me - Chessmen ’62 AMC/Don-Dee/Mercury (Great Ballad released on three labels!) play

5. The Echo Tells Me - Splendors ’60 Taurus $200 (Latin Tempo! Good One Too)

6. Who Created Love - Varnells ’61 Arnold (Female lead on this Sock Smoker!)

7. Ten Questions - Renaults ’63 Chicory (Followed by another Temp Raiser!)

8. Why - Travelers ’57 Andex (Whew!!!! Sure is getting HOT here!) play

9. No One - Gary Gordon ’59 Fleetwood (No relief yet!! Still Embracing! Ain’t it GREAT)

10. No Not Now - Sonny Fulton & Mixmasters ’59 Sunbeam $150 ( OK! Rock & Roll!)

11. You’re Just An Angel - Pastels (s/b Five Pastels) ’62 Dome $300 (Enough Groovin’! Get back to that couch!!! GOOOOOOOOD Ballad!)

12. What Then - Mahalia Jackson & Larks ’53 Apollo (Gospel!)

13. I Mean Really - CD say Eddie Bartell & Dukes Of Rhythm (aka Fresandos) Only found as the Fresandos ’57 Star-X $300 (Very good Rocker!)

14. Beside You - Ann Fleming (Jesters) ’61 Cookin’ (Great rendition of this Standard! Ballad)

15. Corbella - Coronets ’54 unrel Checker (Good Jump tune early 50’s)

16. Now You Say You Care - Bill Kenny ’56 Vik (Ink Spot sound answering "If I Didn’t Care")

17. I Need You So - Lois Blane & Four Sounds ’63 Open & Laurie (Everyone recorded this one. Lois sounds superb!)

18. Dreaming - Cosmic Rays ’60 Saturn $500 (Rhumba anyone?)

19. This I Do Believe - Dimples Harris ’56 Crest (Ballad by Ms Dimples!!)

20. Beggin’ & Pleadin’ - Flipside of #15 (Bluesy Ballad!!!!)

21. Believe In Me - Lollypops ’58 Universal International $2000 (Expensive ROCKER!!!)

22. I’m Only Fooling My Heart - Heartbreakers ’52 RCA $500 (Ballad!)

23. I’m Just A Fool - James Quintet ’49 Derby (78 RPM only) (Good ballad)

24. I Had A Little Too Much - Ensenadas (s/b Ensenators) ’62 Tarx $300 (Rockin!) play

25. Old Man River - Ruth Brown (Rhythmakers aka Cues) ’54 Atlantic (Great version!)

26. Pennies from Heaven - Stomp Gordon ’53 Decca (Stomp does this one as a BALLAD)

27. Don’t You Remember - Etta James ’59 Kent LP (Pretty, Pretty Ballad by Etta!)

28. Don’t Go - Tokens (No info here either! Not the Jay Siegle group. Nice Ballad!)


Those are the twenty-eight (28) tracks on Heavy On Doo Wop Vol#10. Very enjoyable one hour plus of music.
