Let’s cross the Hudson river for this CD. Wanger Records and it’s sister labels Bergen and C&M started in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1958. Another of those short lived labels. Wanger/C&M existed 1958 & 1959. However, within those two years many a fine Vocal Group recording was to enter the lives of the Tri-State teens (New York, New Jersey & Pennsylvania), and some even to go national.

Thirty tracks of Wanger/C&M/Bergen recordings await you here. Some unreleased will probably be new to your ears. All in all a very good group of tune.

6. Getting Nearer – flipside (Which side is the better ballad?) play

7. Guardian Angel – Uniques unreleased Wanger (Rocker! Yet another Guardian Angel)

8. Those Teenage Tears – Gene Day ’59 Bergen (Ballad. Gene backed by probably the Plurals)

9. Rock Around The Merry-Go-Round – flipside (That’s what ya gonna do to this one! Rock!)

10. Who Cares About Love – Nobletones ’58 C&M (Nother good ballad by these lads) play

11. Cha-Lypso Baby – flipside (Latin as the name implies)

12. How Was I Too Know – flipside of #7 (Ureleased Uptempo)

13. I’m Waitin’ – Lee Richards ’58 Wanger (Great Blues Ballad by Lee with female backup)

14. I Dreamed A Dream – flipside (Guys behind Lee on this Mover!)

15. Nobody – John Lester & Mello-Queens ’59 C&M (Excellent ballad)

16. I Want To Know – flipside (Swing with John & The Queens)

17. Angel – Blenders ’59 Wanger (Killer Ballad)

18. Old MacDonald – flipside (Workout to this side)

19. Honey, Please Believe Me – Arthur Johnson ’59 Wanger (Mid-tempo Strand by Art & group)

20. Something About My Baby – flipside (Ballad here by Mr. Johnson and his gang)

21. I Believe – Ricardos unreleased Wanger (Good job on this Standard)

22. I’m Confessin’ – flipside (Do good on this Standard too)

23. I’m Crying – Nobletones ’58 C&M (These kids do super jobs on their ballads)

24. Mambo Boogie – flipside (Hard to Mambo to this one! Rocks)

25. True Lover – Little Miss Charlotte Campbell ’59 Wanger (Ballad backed by an unnamed male group)

26. Where Did My Dreamboat Go – flipside (Ballad side here too, but a duet)

27. I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire – John Lester & Mello-Queens ’59 C&M (Another Standard done very well!)
